What We Believe
_
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Truth, which is both timeless and relevant for all people. It is the only authoritative guide for our lives. ( II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20,21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12,13; II Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:9,11,105,160; Psalm 12:6; Proverbs 30:5 )
ONE ETERNAL GOD
We believe in one eternal God, who is Creator, Ruler, and Sustainer. We believe He has revealed Himself as Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit. ( Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14 )
THE FATHER
We believe in the ‘The Father,’ an all loving Father, who seeks a personal relationship with all people. He has provided for this relationship through His Son.
( Romans 5:8; John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8,9; First Timothy 2:3-4; Second Peter 3:9 )
THE SON
We believe in ‘The Son,’ Jesus Christ, who voluntarily left Heaven and came to earth through the miracle of a ‘virgin birth.’ He came to willingly give up His life on the cross, and in His death, burial, and resurrection provided for forgiveness of sin, and a personal relationship with God. He now lives in Heaven to save all who come to Him in faith. He will come some day to set things right on this earth. ( Philippians 2:5-11; Matthew 1:22,23; John 1:1-5; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; John 14:10-30; Romans 3:23-25; Ephesians 1:7; I Peter 1:3-5; Romans 1:3,4; II Peter 3:9; I Corinthians 15:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 10:9-13; Hebrews 2:17,18; 4:14-16; 7:25; 9:24; I John 2:1,2; Romans 8:34; I Timothy 6:14,15 )
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in The Holy Spirit, who is in the world today to make people aware of the reality of God, and their need for Jesus. He comes to live within every Christian from the moment they receive Jesus Christ as Savior, providing insight into the Bible & application to our lives. ( Romans 8:9-11; Ephesians 1:13,14; John 14:16,17; 15:26; 16:7-13; I Corinthians 3:16; II Corinthians 3:4-6,17; I Corinthians 2:9-14; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 5:15-18 )
PEOPLE
We believe that people are made in the Spiritual image of God to enjoy a personal relationship with Him. All people were born separated from God due to man’s choice to disobey Him. There is no human remedy to this problem God calls sin. ( Genesis 1:26,27; Psalm 8:1,3-9; Genesis 3:1-24; Romans 3:22,23; 5:12 )
We believe that our relationship with God can only be restored by trusting in the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross. This gift is based on His grace and character and will never be taken away.
( John 3:16,17; 14:6; II Peter 3:9; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 1:12; I Peter 1:18,19; Romans 6:23; 10:9-13; Titus 3:4-7; John 10:27-30; Romans 8:1,31,35,38,39; John 14:1-3; Hebrews 7:24,25; 10:10,14; I Peter 1:3-5 )
ETERNITY
We believe that Jesus taught that death is not the end, but that all people will enjoy eternity in Heaven or suffering for eternity in a literal hell. ( Matthew 25:46; John 3:16-18; John 5:28,29; John 11:25,26; 14:1-4; Revelation 20:5,6,12,13,15; Romans 6:23; 8:17,18 )
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. —ROMANS 5:8-9
